Apuldram Dog Field Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions are written to enable you and other users to have a safe and pleasant experience at the Apuldram Dog Field. They may be revised or updated from time to time, please ensure you have reviewed and agree to accept and abide by these when booking. They should be read in accordance with our here: FAQs.

Booking

  • Our planning permission is for a maximum of 3 dogs per session and MUST NOT be exceeded, by any booking, even for smaller breeds.

  • Each session is for 50 minutes allowing a 10-minute buffer period.

  • All bookings must be paid for in advance.

  • Payments are to be made via the website directly, we do not accept cash payments or any payments on site.

  • You can manage your booking online, sessions booked can be transferred to an alternative available date/session if they are changed at least 24 hours prior to the booking.

  • Sessions booked are non-refundable.

  • We reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, and for any reason to amend or cancel a booking at any time before the commencement of slots. In these events we will refund your booking if you have not breached our terms and conditions.

 

Parking

  • When you arrive at the secure parking area, you must not enter the area if the gates are closed, and another car is parked.

  • Please park in the gravel car park outside the secure parking area and remain in your car until the person before has left.

  • When you enter the secure parking area, you must close the gates before letting your dog/s out of your vehicle.

  • When leaving the secure parking area at the end of your session, please leave gates wide open and hooked back ready for next visitor.

 

Dog Agility Equipment

  • Any use of our agility equipment is completely at your own risk.

  • Do not use the equipment in wet or icy conditions as surfaces become slippery.

  • You must supervise your dog/s when using the equipment and notify us of any defects.

  • Agility equipment is for the use of dog/s only.

  • The dog field is a natural environment with hazards consistent with the countryside; some uneven ground, which could be concealed under grass or vegetation, animal mounds or burrows, low, overhanging or fallen branches and tree roots. We regularly inspect and maintain the dog field, please report any hazards to us.

  • During winter and periods of prolonged wet weather, the field may be slippery and muddy and suitable outdoor footwear is advised. We have a field shelter which may be used by user/s for the purpose of shelter during inclement weather.

  • There is no artificial lighting within the dog field enclosure, our booking slots are available after sunrise and before sunset.

  • Use of the dog field is entirely at your own risk.

  • The management cannot be held responsible for any injury (people or animals) incurred whilst using these facilities.  Notwithstanding this, the management will hold appropriate business insurance.

  • You must not let anyone else into the paddock other than friends or family members you have brought with you to enjoy walking your dog/s.

  • By bringing friends or family, or sending somebody in place of you, you agree that you take full responsibility for their safety and for ensuring that they abide by these terms and conditions whilst always using the facility.

  • You are always responsible for the welfare of accompanied children and your dog/s.

  • Please report any defects, incidents, accidents, or injury to us within 24 hours of your booking by email to  info@apuldramdogfield.co.uk

  • We require all customers booking the facility to have their dog/s covered by a valid insurance policy.

  • Please be aware that we share the site with The Apuldram Centre, and your dog/s must be always on a lead outside of the secure area. The dog field is surrounded by rural roads and active farmland. 

  • Supervised children are welcome to visit with a responsible adult (age 18+)

  • The dog field is not a designated ‘child safe’ area. Children must not be allowed to climb on fences, gates, or agility equipment.

 

Fencing & Gates

  • Our fencing is appropriate to make the dog field secure, however it is not inspected after every single visit. We will inspect the external fencing regularly; holes or other damage may occur from time to time due to several reasons including digging by dogs or other animals, falling trees, extreme weather or general wear and tear.  If you identify any issue with the fencing or gates, please inform us within 24 hours so that we can take appropriate action. Therefore, it remains the owners responsibility to check the integrity; especially if you have dogs that like to dig, hunt rabbits and jump. 

  • We have created a safe space where you can confidently let your dog/s off lead whilst under your supervision. However, we do not accept responsibility for dogs escaping.  At all times you must act as a responsible dog owner and keep your dog in-sight at all times.

  • Dogs must not be left unattended in the dog field.

  • Our external fences and gates are 1.9 metres tall, with a 1-metre-high chicken wire fence. It is your responsibility to gauge your dog/s ability of escaping from these boundaries.

  • You must close all gates behind you and make use of any securing hooks or bolts.

 

Car Parking

  • Vehicles are parked at your own risk. We are not responsible for accidents, damage or loss incurred to vehicles or their contents.

  • You must only park in the designated secure parking area.

  • A maximum of 2 cars per visit.

  • Do not block in any other parked cars if you are waiting to enter the secure parking area,   

  • There is CCTV across the Apuldram Centre site for the purpose of public and asset safety, including the secure parking area.

  • Dogs must not be left in unoccupied vehicles without adequate ventilation.

 

Dog/Owners - Etiquette And Welfare

  • It is your responsibility to pick up your dog poo. We provide biodegradable poo bags and bins to make it an easy task; this also means keeping an eye on your dog to make sure you do not miss them pooing around the field.  Spot checks take place, and if you are caught not picking up your dog's poo, we have the right to ask you to leave; if you are a repeat offender, you will be refused access in the future.

  • Please take any other litter away with you. Nothing other than dog waste and dog waste bags should be put in the bins, e.g. no latex gloves, chewing gum, cigarettes, food etc in the dog bins.

  • Please discourage your dog from digging, this can make our fields unsecure and dangerous to others.

  • Users must ensure the water hose is not left running after use.

  • Do not drop litter or leave toys or uneaten treats in the field or in the shelter. Dogs may swallow them and become ill; take everything home with you at the end of your session.

  • We take no responsibility for any dog that becomes unwell or dies from anything ingested or encountered at our field. We also accept no liability for any costs/expenses or other liability incurred by you during the use of the field.

  • No smoking anywhere on site.

  • Your booking is for the purposes of dog exercise only, no barbeques, alcohol etc are permitted in the fields, no glass bottles of any kind.

  • We do not allow anyone to operate or release any high-flying object (including a drone), or permit this, while using the field. 

  • Do not bring your dog to the field if they are or have been unwell in the last 48 hours or your vet has advised to not exercise or socialise with others. Doing so could be harmful to your dog/s and other dogs

  • If your dog is unwell in the field, you must clean up all mess and make sure that the field is left clean for the next user.

  • If your dog has shown signs of Kennel Cough, Sickness or Diarrhoea in the past 72 hours, you should not visit under any circumstance.

  • Your dog/s must be microchipped (this is a legal requirement pursuant to The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2016). 

  • Your dog/s must be regularly treated for flea, tick and worm prevention and be fully vaccinated.

  • We do not permit the use of Choke chains, prong collars and electronic devices. Harsh handling of dogs, either verbal or physical is not allowed.

  • Professional dog walkers or dog trainers will be allowed by prior arrangement; the maximum number of dogs is 3. Anyone hiring the field on a professional basis can do so with the permission of the management by e-mail to info@apuldramdogfield.co.uk

Banned Breeds

  • The primary purpose of the Apuldram Centre is to support vulnerable adults and to safeguard them, our staff and our visitors. We are committed to providing a safe and friendly environment.

  • Apuldram Dog Field does not take bookings for dog owners wishing to exercise ‘Dangerous Dogs’ as defined by the ‘The Dangerous Act’ (1991), or banned breeds. Therefore, banned breeds are not permitted to use our dog exercise field, our public outdoor spaces, or our cafe. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

  • Other on site-facilities

  • Dogs on leads are welcome in our designated outdoor refreshment areas, including the outdoor decking and covered area by the shop/café.

 

Personal Data

  • We require some of your personal data to allow you to book with us. The data collected is; First Name, Last Name, Contact Number, Postal Address and Email Address.

  • This data is required to enable Apuldram Dog Field to provide their service to the customers, to contact you in case of an emergency or make changes to your booking and for record keeping relating to the use of fields. Your data is stored with the booking system provider (Setmore), payment provider (Paypal) and platform Mailchimp in accordance with their terms and conditions.
